Mammography
Mammography is special type of imaging that uses low-dose x-rays to visualize the tissue of the breast. NOMS Women’s Center uses a Full Field Digital Mammography system by GE. The GE Essential is statistically proven to be among the lowest dose units on the market today.
Our experienced staff will strive to make your experience at NOMS Women’s Center a positive one. We use a special mammography pad on all exams. This warms the detector and eliminates the pulling of the skin against the hard surface associated with the exam. A plush robe is offered to all patients for comfort and modesty, and the surrounding will relax and calm you.
If you have had a previous mammogram at a different facility it is important to bring these with you or to make arrangements to have them sent to us for comparison. Our friendly staff will assist you in getting your records. A consent for Release of Records can be signed and we will take care of getting them sent to us. You can also pick them up and bring them with you if you would like.
Mammography Preparation
If you have had a previous mammogram, please bring the films with you. You can contact us @ 419-502-3555 and we will assist you in obtaining your prior exams.
Do not wear and perfumes, powders, lotions, or deodorant the day of your exam. These contain a substance that may appear on your mammogram image.
